Totaal Rez is proud to introduce you this new French talent, London based, already signed on last ‘Deeparture’ compilation last year.  If it were a main idea to retain from this new EP, it would surely be: Deep Liquidfunk ! Joakuim revisists the old tasty urban sound that nourished us for a very long times these last years. Two sides in presence. A slightly nostalgic one first, with ‘Never Been To NYC’ & ‘New Horizons’, which lets appear the very background and melodic know-how of the fresh artist. The second drives you into the darker sound of the current D&B, with the obscure and hypnotizing bass lines of ‘Face It’ and ‘Minded Tribe’.

A deep dangling voice introduces you to the rich atmosphere of this amazing tune. Perfectly controlled and balanced bassline surrounds every listener and never let him go ! Master of the shades & space, Joakuim knows how to give body to his sound : a true time travel !

B. ‘Face It’

Deep & minimal stuff Inside ! Face It introduces you to another aspect of the panel of this young artist. Did you hear these slight melodies in the intro ? They lead you to a sharper, darker universe where everything goes mad, especially you !

C. ‘New Horizons’

Old tasty Liquidfunk with an urban Soul vibe, this tune gathers suspensive vocals, deep bassline for an efficent and well-mastered atmosphere.

D. ‘Minded Tribe’

Another piece of work imbuded with mystery. Loud and heavy vibes, torturated sounds, far voices, mechanic rythm dive you into the strange unhealthy world of Joakuim, confirming his more than one single string to his bow !
